Painless Running
Painless Running
My favourite kind of running I have to admit and until today I was beginning to think it may be a thing of the past for me.
Today I ran 5.92 miles in 00:50:33 @08:32 pace, 67%WHR (139bpm).
It was rather warm, over cast and threatening thunder storms. I decided I was going to make myself take it easy and concentrate on running with good form. I ran most of it with my wife Heidi. Form wise all was well; I wasn’t bouncing unduly yet felt light and agile on my feet. The running felt very easy and enjoyable. I think I want to be a coach. I was thinking that I would love to be able to help people to enjoy their running like this. When it feels good it feels so good, it really does. The route was hilly and I tried to run to percieved effort and kept a rough check on heart rate to make sure I wasn’t overdoing it.
You will notice the last split was considerably quicker than the rest – it was the last mile home and I wanted to just see if I can still run with a reasonable turn of speed without it feeling too hard. That pace felt steady to medium easy so I’m very pleased with that.
Just a tiny twinge from the left peroneus injury (at the insertion) I picked up after running too tense at Shakespeare Marathon…

I don’t really have a lot to say today to be honest other than I have another running lesson with JonP, a Pose instructor booked on Friday which I’m looking forward to. I will no doubt blog about that when the time comes.
