What Governs Speed?
An interesting topic prompted by a friend on Twitter posting this news link about cheetahs.

What I found most interesting was that the news article never entertained the idea it may be gravity that helps cheetahs to travel so fast? They did however hint at change of support. Of course if you are a Poser you will no doubt think that it is something to do with how quickly and fluidly the animal can change support and get from one pose to the next.
Just a quick post because I haven’t put anything up here for a while what with one issue or another in my life at the moment I am struggling to find the time to do anything on here.
I am thinking of putting a kind of forum up here. Would anyone like that? We could natter on about efficient running to our heart’s content. Just a thought…
People who know me will no doubt have heard about me becoming a “cyclist” in an attempt to keep myself fit whilst injured. I am enjoying this greatly actually and will keep cycling up although to a lesser extent when I return to running. I am learning about the benefits of relaxing goals, letting go of the rabid training regimes and just enjoying life and rejoicing in the fact that I can get out there in the fresh air and it doesn’t matter whether that is on two wheels or my own two legs. What does matter is that I enjoy my life.
This song kind of sums it all up for me to be honest. Yes it may be a rework of a very hackneyed phrase but that doesn’t stop it from being absolutely true. We should all remember that our time on this world is all too brief…
